More Crew Members Come Forward
Carnival Crew Members Back Up Claims
March 3, 2008
CRUISE BRUISE EXCLUSIVE REPORT

Cruise Bruise in a continuing investigation on alleged crew abuses has received case #7 and #8.

As reported before, other crew members fearing retribution has come forward but asked to be protected.

After posting our new informant contact information, two more Carnival crew members have come forward backing up what the others have said, and confirming prior crew claims.
Crew member #7 alleges:

" . . . The money mostly comes from the guest as company gives me [deleted] bucks, almost nothing. What about  the guest sometimes there never tip as they tell me the company pays us 4-5 thousand per month, when we say no the company give me only [deleted] bucks they shocked.

We get told not to tell the guest what company gives us, if we complain they give warnings saying we have no respect for them and do not care about the job as they have business to run and guest come to see happy crews."

Personal details follow, then:

. . . Now they tell us something about this lady [Lady Africa - Reshma Harilal]  taking wrong action against the company and they do not need people like her around us.

Me and some friends never met her but we agree when she do this as on ships crew are treated like shit, not humans.

Maybe we come from different countries we get treated like this because our english not excellent.

A crime is a crime and must be punished no matter where it is, I wish someone can be brave to sue for overtime  and abuse of human dignity . . .  "

She continues with some personal details, omitted.

Then  . . .

"Hope things will improve or all crew should do striking then see what company do then."
Crew member #8 alleges:

" . . . [personal details removed] I used to think that this company was great but to my surprise what I see here before and now is terrible.

We are told not to dicuss the lawsuit [Lady Africa - Reshma Harilal] issue with anyone  or we will lost our jobs.

I am definetly not going to loose my job by standing up  and complaining, cause if I complain .....

1.  no one cares nor listens
2.  still will  loose my job

So whats the use of complaining, does this crewmember think carnival will let her bring them down? I do not think so...we all know how we hear of people missing without trace, this woman better then take extra care.

Even I see all the wrongs but  . . .  [personal details removed] . . . I need the job, anyway, well done to this crewlady  who is standing up for all... may sucess be in your hands. Will continue to read the stories..."

It can be assumed, if managers are meeting with the crew and telling them "they don't need Reshma Harilal around the crew still employed, they have forbidden crew to talk to her or to discuss the case at all.
When crew are told not to discuss the lawsuit with "anyone", that would mean with other crew members, the media, Reshma Harilal's lawyers as well as Cruise Bruise.

This allegation shows that the crew members are being intimidated. Who they talk to and what they discuss in their off duty hours is none of ANY cruise line's business and further violates their human rights.
