Beyond Cruise Ship Suicides
December 6, 2015 - Cruise Bruise Public Service Announcement

A video came across my desk this morning that sums up the cost of suicide, beyond the immediate emotional effect on witnesses, friends and family of the person who decides to suddenly end their life. It's a reminder for everyone, everywhere, especially as the Christmas season is upon us.

This is an example of how People everywhere go through troubling, sometimes horrific situations in their life, things we can't possibly imagine, don't need to imagine. Consider your words to others and what may be going on it their life, before you criticize, humiliate, demoralize them with your comments and/or attitude.

We researched Page Yore prior to selecting the video for the article and found that she was a video blogger, knowing it might be exaggerated or disputed only made the video more enticing. We now know many of the statements she makes in the video are false. True or FALSE the story was well told and captivated viewers.

Pro v Con: Was Page Yore's story false? Walmart v Page Yore

Pro

Walmart has released statements declaring:
Paige Yore was not being honest about the incident, the male cashier she was referring to did not say his mother committed suicide. The cashier, after being questioned, said his mother is still alive. Furthermore, surveillance footage does not show an altercation, nor does it show Paige Yore hugging the male cashier like she claimed.

The Colorado woman argues that she wasn’t trying to get famous or have a viral video. She insists that she is telling the truth.

Con

Page Yore replied to Walmart:
“What I am doing is not about the fame. It’s not about the money. It’s not about being on ABC. It’s about touching people’s lives in a world where we all forget what the meaning of Christmas is.”

KOLO 8 News in Reno, Nevada reported, "Walmart obtained surveillance footage of Paige Yore checking out, and the only issue at the time was a language barrier between the cashier and another person in line. However, the issue was only brief, having been cleared up by the clerk. KKTV News immediately reached out to the woman in the viral video and asked her if she told the truth. She only said “yes” before quickly hanging up on them."
