Otto Witherspoon, 28, and Keshanda Lynnette Mazyck, 37, September 12, 2016

Carnival Ecstasy embarked from Charleston, South Carolina on Thursday, September 8, 2016 on four-night Bahamas cruises. Ecstasy returned on Monday, September 12 and two cruise ship passengers were arrested on two unrelated drug relate warrants.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers determined Otto Witherspoon, 28, from North Charleston, was wanted on an arrest warrant for distribution of cocaine by North Charleston Police Department (NCPD). Witherspoon was handled over to NCPD.

CBP officers also discovered Keshanda Lynnette Mazyck, 37, of St. Stephen, South Carolina was wanted by Bonneau, South Carolina Police Department for narcotics possession. Mazyck was turned over to the Bonneau Police Department.

Mazyck had been arrested on August 29, 2016 at 0823 hours narcotics possession. She then took the Carnival Ecstasy cruise and was apprehended again.

Charleston Area Port Director Robert Fencel said, “As the nation’s border security agency, Customs and Border Protection at times encounters travelers with outstanding arrest warrants and works to return them to the jurisdiction that initiated their criminal charges. We work closely and effectively with our local and state law enforcement partners to accomplish that mission together.”
