A Royal Caribbean cruise ship employee arrested on charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment against a ship passenger, was held without bond pending a trial.
Henry Maceto Forbes, 34, of Colombia was arrested by Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies at 815 Channelside Drive in the Port of Tampa, where the Legend of the Seas was docked. Authorities say he tried to rape a woman, age 22, he met in a bar area of the ship while at sea.
It is alleged that Forbes offered to take the woman on a tour of the ship about 03:30am, and while on the tour, pulled her into a dark room, and closed the door, holding it shut, then attempted to rape her.
The woman began yelling and managed to escape, according to investigators. After she reported the incident, the ship - on a weeklong voyage from the Bahamas to Belize - stopped at the Port of Tampa, where authorities were waiting to arrest Forbes.
Forbes stayed in the brig until the ship returned to the Port of Tampa, where he was arrested.
