Details:
A 15 year-old boy aboard the Star Princess with his grandparents was sexually assaulted in the spa area of the ship.
He immediately reported the incident, and John Johnson, of Pacific, Washington was arrested.
At the time Star Princess was in Stephens Passage near South Island outside Juneau, Alaska.
Johnson was arrested on board the vessel in Skagway. He was initially jailed pending a trial at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center in Juneau on a $20,000 bail.
A Ketchikan, Alaska grand jury brought charges against Johnson, and through a plea aggreement, he plead guilty to some charges and served only 4 months in prison.
He was originally charges with six counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree and Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second degree.
Johnson, had been convicted twice before as a sex offender, and never should have been on the cruise ship to begin with.
