Two cruise ships, the Ocean Majesty and the Thomson Spirit collided in Geiranger Fjord, a Norwegian Fjord.
This is a deep Norwegian fjord with high and steep mountains.
While the two cruise lines tried to down play the incident, and neither reported the incident on their websites, crew labeled it more of a "touch" than a "collision".

The Thomson Spirit suffered a buckled bow.
The damage is reported as slight with some lifeboats and davits taking the brunt of the slow collision. Unconfirmed reports of slight damage to cabins are being mentioned in cruising forums.
Ocean Majesty was built in 1994 and has 274 cabins on the 10,400 Gross Ton vessel. She holds 613 passengers when fully booked.
Thomson Spirit, an aging vessel, was formerly Holland America's Nieuw Amsterdam and was built in 1984. It is a 33,930 gross ton ship, that holds about 1,254 passengers in 627 cabins, with a crew of over 500.
Passengers heard that it would take at least three days to repair the damage on Ocean Majesty.
This meant the cruise line had to end the nine day voyage, now reduced to only four days for the 466 passengers onboard.
Passengers report that Thompson Spirit hit the Ocean Majesty.
However, both cruise lines cancelled the voyages and sent their passengers packing.
Reports say that at least two cabins were damaged, two lifeboat davits were damaged and bent at right angles, and one lifeboat attached to the ship was destroyed.
