French police in New Caledonia have caught another pedophile, registered sex offender who boarded the Pacific Dawn cruise ship without detection.
The man who is somehow protected under Australia privacy laws, can not be identied in news reports within Australia. This 'privacy' law that protects pedophiles who have offended, many in extremely violent acts, allows them to roam free among the public, including the cruising public, undetected. A typical cruise on the Pacific Dawn includes about 200 children.
The man was arrested on Sunday while on a stopover in the French territory's capital Nouméa, aboard Pacific Dawn.
French police said they had acted on intelligence received from their Australian federal counterparts.
In this case, the individual was classified as "high risk of reiteration" since he had been convicted to 18 months of jail, in the Australian State of New South Wales, back in 2004.
He was found guilty of his crimes of disseminating pedophile pictures and indecent assault on minors.
After his arrest he was flown back home the next day to Australia.
This brings to four the total of arrests of Australian citizens with a pedophile sexual assault history since October last year.
All were arrested aboard P & O Cruises touring the Pacific islands.
