Ruth Becker had traveled to Belize on a cruise ship in the company of her daughter.
The two had taken a shore excursion to Shark Ray Alley between Caye Caulker and San Pedro when Becker began to complain of nausea and shortness of breath around 11:15am
Becker was taken back aboard the dive boat and was given CPR, but she could not be revived.
She was transported to Lions clinic where she was pronounced dead a little before noon.
