Cruise Ship Passengers Evacuated To Turkey

While coming into port at Kusadasi, Turkey Sky Wonder ran aground in the harbor with about 1050 passengers aboard.
Sky Wonder was attempting to dock in heavy seas and gale force winds when the ship was pushed aground.
About 30 passengers and 567 crew aboard refused to leave the ship while it is being inspected and an attempt to refloat the vessel is made.
Most of the passengers aboard are Spanish citizens.
Sky Wonder, formerly the Pacific Sky owned by P & O Cruises, purchased in May 2006, now sails for Pullmantur Cruises.
Sky Wonder is powered by steam turbines, has a length of 788 feet with a gross tonnage of 46,087
