On the return trip, from Totola To New York, the vessel sailed through bad weather

The ship was battered by high winds and waves

Waves were estimated as high as 50 feet as they reach the fifth floor of ship.

About a dozen rooms were flooded when their windows were busted out.

One passenger said the water rose to knee level in the cabin, and their clothes and belongs were washed out to sea.

The cruise line moved the passengers in the affected cabins to other cabins.

The cruise line offered a free cruise in the future to affected passengers.

Many passengers were severely frightened by the event, and felt like would never see land again.

The cruise line said this type of severe weather is common this type of year.
