Cruise Passenger Gets Severe Food Poisoning
Carnival Cruise Lines - Elation - October 27, 2006
The last day of cruise on Carnival Elation, I spent the morning in Nassau. When my wife wanted to go shopping, I went back to ship for lunch, ate on the Lido Deck, the chicken and fish.
I went back to our room and within one hour became violently ill. This went on for a couple of hours. The ship was at sea by now.
While I was becoming ill again, blood was now gushing from my nose, this caused great concern. I tried to call infirmary three times they would not answer finally called 911. I was scolded for doing this but explained why.
I was told to come down to the infirmary. I told them that I could not walk. So, they sent someone to come get me. By this time I had been sick continuously vomiting for almost 6 hours.
They tried to say it must have been something I ate at Nassau. But, I explained I did not eat anything until I returned to the ship.
I asked repeatedly to see the doctor. However, the nurses said it was not necessary. I asked them to please page my wife, but they refused.
They gave me a shot and sent me back to our room where I continued to be ill all night.
The next morning I had to call over and over to get someone to help us leave the ship. No one ever checked on me. They just plain did not care.
I have emailed carnival, but they have not answered.
